Campfire boys (and girls!)

Of course the campfire was the star attraction again this year. Granddad had lots of very interested help whether he liked it or not. With the exception of the ax work (or is that a splitting maul?), Mister was involved in every step of basic campfire making.
After you chop wood, make sure you gather some smaller branches for kindling and break them into a manageable size.
 I can do that!
Next, you have to crumple some paper to put under the kindling.
Stuff it in there really good.
Next, bring over the big logs.

Then you light the fire. (I think only a granddad can get away with giving a grandson matches!)
Then watch the fire's progress. Did it catch?
Look closely!
Dudes! Did you lose the fire?
Success! Just in time for the next fire supervisor's visit!
Many thanks to our resident Eagle Scout for campfire construction tips and Grandmother for fire safety awareness!
S'more fire pics later!
