Captain Underpants

Ok, this may be one reason why I'm behind on the blogging. This photo captures the two main trends in Mr. McShortie's life right now. The superhero cape and pose is something with which you all are familiar by now. The new feature is the "big boy" underpants! A couple of weeks ago, he just decided that he wanted to wear big boy underpants. As we had just gotten off a round of an intestinal bug, I thought "it's not like it could get worse" and decided to just jump into the potty training full bore -- the heck with pullups! The interest has been consistent. Definite progress is being made. We're definitely not all there yet. This week has been a pretty good one with a couple of days without accidents. He even does pretty darn well at night. A lot of time the progress is 1 step forward and 2 steps back, but hey, at least it is one step forward, right? He may kill me someday for posting the picture, but I don't think he could be any cuter! He was even excited when the Easter bunny brought him more big boy underpants!
